Affenberg Landskron is a zoo in Villach and also Austria's largest outdoor monkey enclosure with about 160 Japanese macaques. The animal husbandry is semi-free compared to other zoos, which means that the animals live in a fenced, wooded property that provides a 40,000 m² habitat for the monkeys. Affenberg is a category A zoo operation under Austrian law. It has approximately 120,000 visitors annually and receives no public funding.
