Kaufbeurer Haus
Facts and practical information
Kaufbeurer Haus is a refuge of the Allgäu-Immenstadt Section of the German Alpine Club. It is located in the Allgäu Alps on the north side of the Hornbach chain, above the Hornbach valley at 2005 m above sea level and is a self-catering hut. From Pentecost to early October, the hut is staffed on weekends. It has about 50 mattress dormitories. The winter room offers 14 sleeping places when the hut is not open. The AV key is necessary for access to it.
Due to an official order of the district administration Reutte, the upper floor of the hut may currently not be used as a sleeping room, so that even during the maintenance period of the hut only the storerooms of the winter room are available.
You can reach the hut in about three hours from Hinterhornbach.
