Facts and practical information

The Schneealpenhaus is a refuge of the Austrian Mountain Club of the ÖAV. It is located on the Schauerkogel at an altitude of 1788 m above sea level on the southern edge of the Schneealpe plateau in the Mürzsteg Alps and was opened on August 16, 1925. The house is accessible on gravel roads and can accommodate up to 60 people. Otto Neubacher was the tenant for many years. The Schneealpenhaus is managed during the summer season from the beginning of May to the end of October.
