Facts and practical information
Petronilla Chapel is a Roman Catholic chapel in the Altenstadt district of the town of Feldkirch. As a church in the field, the chapel is considered the origin of the name of Feldkirch.
The chapel, which was also the chapel of Lourdes and St. Martin, stood in an open field to the west of the former village of Feldkirch, which later became Altenstadt. The chapel was enlarged in 1505 and converted into a Lourdes grotto in 1888. The chapel consists of a choir, nave and an enclosed sacristy. Today the chapel is dedicated to St. Petronilla and St. Martin. Panel painting with St. Martin and St. Petronilla. Crucifix with figures of St. Martin and St. Petronilla.
The fresco Mary of Lourdes from 1914 is by the painter Florus Scheel.
