Kapitelplatz is a large square south of Salzburg Cathedral in Salzburg's Old Town. The spacious square looks east to the cathedral provostry and the archbishop's palace and south to the fortress and the Kapitelschwemme. Behind them are the Cardinal Schwarzenberg House, the Cathedral Chapter and the mill yard of St. Peter's Abbey. To the west of the square follows the novitiate wing of the monastery. Kapitelplatz and Kapitelgasse are named after the seat of the Salzburg Cathedral Chapter in Kapitelgasse.
