Großer Wildkamm
Facts and practical information
The Wildkamm is a narrow, rocky cutting in the Mürzsteg Alps in Styria. It branches off at the Gingatzwiese at about 1740 m a.s.l. from the central plateau of the Veitschalpe to the northwest in the direction of Niederalpl and reaches 1874 m a.s.l. in the Großer Wildkamm and 1757 m a.s.l. in the Kleiner Wildkamm.
The traverse of the Wildkamm on an unmarked trail is a rewarding mountain tour, but requires surefootedness and easy scrambling in the section between the Gingatzwiese and the Großer Wildkamm. A marked ascent trail runs through the eastern gully between Wildkamm and Hoher Veitsch, as does the very popular toboggan downhill skiing route in winter.
