Facts and practical information
The parish church of St. Leonhard in the Villach district of the same name was first mentioned in documents in 1399. The late Gothic building was partially destroyed in a bombing raid on March 22, 1945. In 1947 the church, rebuilt according to plans by Walter Mayr, was consecrated. St. Leonhard was a branch of St. Nikolai and was not elevated to a parish until 1954.
