Maison du patrimoine médiéval mosan
Facts and practical information
The Spanish House is a dwelling house in the Dutch Renaissance style, located in Bouvignes-sur-Meuse, an old medieval town in the province of Namur, a few kilometers north of the city of Dinant, on the left bank of the Meuse.
It was built from 1568 to 1578 by a blacksmith, Gobert Maistrecocq, to replace the castle of the Counts destroyed in 1554 during the sack of the city by the troops of Henri II. It has a remarkable framework that rises to more than 11 meters and which presents a series of crosses of Saint Andrew. It hosts a museum since 2008, "The House of medieval heritage Mosan".
