La Bellone, Brussels
Facts and practical information
La Maison du Spectacle " La Bellone " or La Bellone, located at 46 rue de Flandre, is a cultural and artistic house in Brussels created by the painter and scenographer Serge Creuz in 1980.
This rich residence currently houses several theater, dance and multimedia associations, as well as a library and a documentation center dedicated to the performing arts. It also provides a setting for occasional events, meetings and exhibitions. Ten years later, around 1990, it was extended and renovated under the direction of the architects Jacqueline Torenhajm and Émile Laufer-Torenhajm before the inner courtyard was covered with a glass roof by Olivier Noterman. It is one of the jewels of the classicizing baroque architecture of Brussels.
Antoine Pickels was the director from June 2007 to October 2011. The current director is Mylène Lauzon.
