Plaza de las culturas, La Paz

The Plaza de las Culturas is an important public space located in the center of the city of La Paz. It borders the streets Potosí and Avenida Mariscal Santa Cruz. The square, constituted around the Casa de la Cultura Franz Tamayo has access through three roads and is close to the Pasarela Pérez Velasco, the Lanza Market and Comercio Street, all of them spaces of great pedestrian and commercial activity in the nucleus known as Casco Urbano Central.

In accordance with the style and materiality of the cultural building, the square was remodeled during 2012 and 2013 acquiring its current characteristics, the furniture and floors of the square were built in concrete and stone and presents a covered area through a fan-shaped metal structure The walls that limit it present contemporary sculptural works developed by the master Ricardo Pérez Alcalá.
