Bosque dos Buritis is an urban park located in the West Sector in Goiânia. It is the oldest landscape heritage of Goiânia. It is the oldest park in the city.
It was designed in the City's Eastern Plan to be a green area. It has 141,500 square meters, surrounded by trees, lakes, and undergrowth. It has three artificial lakes supplied by the Buriti stream and several underground channels. In one of them is the largest water jet in South America.
Since the occupation of the city until today, the area has experienced many interferences that disfigure its original characteristics, such as the native vegetation was in certain parts replaced by exotic plants, leaving only 10% of the original vegetation. In the Forest, there have already been implemented sidewalks for jogging, fences, internal paving, curbs, lakes, waterfalls, and a snack bar. The Centro Livre de Artes, the Museu de Arte de Goiânia and two works of art that please the locals and tourists alike: the Monument to World Peace, which shelters lands from the most diverse countries and a fountain that reaches fifty meters high, the biggest in South America.
Here, refreshing lakes, vast vegetation, and the sound of birds and animals can be appreciated up close by man. A preserved and valued environment in a region with a mild and humid climate, with 749 meters of altitude and an average temperature of 22.9°C.
