Praia do Flamengo, Salvador

Flamengo Beach is a beach in the city of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Located in Stella Maris, it is near the border of Salvador and Lauro de Freitas. Very frequented, it has many coconut trees, yellowish sand and reefs, which cause strong waves, good for surfing. But walking, fishing, diving, frescobol, and kitesurfing are also common.

The Salvador City Hall plans interventions on the shoreline of the Stella Maris neighborhood, including Flamengo Beach, whose stretch has the concept of revitalizing green areas. This includes walking trails, cycle tracks, and groves. The project was launched in February 2015, with construction expected to begin in October 2015 and be delivered in 2016, which did not take place.
