The Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center is a convention center in the Plano Piloto of Brasilia, Brazil. It was originally designed by architect Sérgio Bernardes and opened on March 12, 1979. A major renovation and expansion, which tripled the area of the original building, was completed in 2005.
It is one of the largest convention centers in South America, being able to simultaneously receive around 9.4 thousand people at the same time. It has 37,000 square meters of constructed area with the possibility of mounting 11,400 square meters of exhibits. It belongs to the Federal District Government, which also managed it until 2018, when the building was granted to the company Capital DF Administração de Centro de Convenções, which began managing the space.
It is located in the Cultural Disclosure Sector of the Monumental Axis, in the widest part of the central bed, being perpendicular to the road. It is close to the hotel network, fifteen minutes away from the International Airport of Brasília. It is a reference for events, lectures, fairs, shows or congresses.
