Praça Frederico Arnaldo Ballvé is a street in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is located on the corner of Cristóvão Colombo and Eduardo Chartier avenues, in the Higienópolis neighborhood, near the so-called Vila do IAPI.
The name of the square pays tribute to the radio broadcaster and sportsman who stood out as a Sport Club Internacional manager.
Inaugurated in 2001, the 7,131 square meters square has a track for street skateboarding, the biggest public track in Brazil in this modality, and equipment such as ramps, internal and external walks, stairs, handrails, besides sidewalks, benches, drinking fountains, and vegetation. As a way to compensate the environmental impact caused by the Third Perimetral construction work, the work was financed by the Inter-American Development Bank.
