The brother's mound in Sofia is a monument to the killed anti -fascists.
The monument was built in the Freedom Park in Sofia. It was implemented by the project of architect Evgeni Zidarov and arch. Mikhail Milkov, in the author's team led by the sculptor Yordan Krachmarov, also includes the sculptors Vladimir Tsvetkov and A. Atanasova-Milkova and the artists A. Stamenov and L. Petrov.
It was opened on June 2, 1956 - the day of the fallen fighters for the freedom of Bulgaria, in which the death of Hristo Botev is celebrated.
The bones of 17 prominent figures of the Bulgarian Communist Party and the Workers' Youth Union, who lived and worked in Sofia were laid there, who died in the fight against fascism and the authoritarian regime in Bulgaria. These are: Anton Ivanov, Yordanka Nikolova-Chankova, Vlado Trichkov, Vlado Georgiev, Tsvetko Radoynov, Emil Markov, Nacho Ivanov, Avram Stoyanov, Alexander Dimitrov, Adalbert Antonov, Lilyana Dimitrova, Svilen Rusev, Maria Petlyakova, Gigno Georgiev, Lev. Lyubcho Baramov, Emil Shekerdzhiyski.
The monument consists of a central high part and 2 low parts on the side. Its main part is an obelisk with a height of 41 meters. A bronze sculpture of a partisan and a guerrilla was erected in front of him. Bronze wreaths are placed on the side of the obelisk. In the foreground, there are sculptural compositions on the low parts. On the right, in the center of the group is a mother who sends a son to the front. On the left, a worker, peasant and intellectual symbolize the unity of the people. There is a ossuary closed with a granite slab and a bronze wreath.
