Gaochang Gucheng

Gaochang former city, Uyghur language called "also Dugu city", the site of the former city is located in Tulufan City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Gaochang District, Sanbao township, the southern foot of the Flaming Mountains, the delta of the Moutougou River.
The old city was built in the 1st century B.C. by the cantonment troops of the Western Han Dynasty in the territory of the former state of Cheshis. it was abandoned at the end of the 13th century due to war. in 1961, the ancient city of Gaochang was declared the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
