Facts and practical information
The Jewish cemetery in Mirotice, founded in 1681, is located about 400 m north of M. Alše Square on the northern outskirts of the town in the Neradov district behind the Lomnice River. It is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
Approximately 250 tombstones have been preserved in the cemetery, which covers an area of 3,417 m2. The oldest of them is said to date back to 1647. The Jewish cemetery includes a mortuary, where coffins and mortars have been preserved. The last burial took place here in 1946.
The Jewish community of Mirotic ceased to exist according to the law of 1890. Until the occupation, the Jewish community in Březnice took care of the cemetery.
