Flower garden in Kromierż-a garden in the style of Italian and Dutch Baroque, founded in 1665-1675 by the Bishop of Olomouc Karl II. von Liechtenstein-Kastelkorn. The designer was Filibert Luchase and Giovanni Pietro Tencalla.
In the central place of the gardens there is an octagonal blue and white rotunda. It was created in 1674 and is decorated with a combination of stucco and paintings on mythological and antricious themes. Inside there is also a Foucault pendulum, placed there at the end of the 19th century by a professor of local junior high school, Dr. Františka Nábělka. It operated until 1940, later the rotunda was closed. It was opened after renovation in 1974, but since the start of further renovation works the pendulum has been immobilized again.
The largest object of flower gardens is a 224 -meter colonnade, decorated with 46 sculptures depicting figures from Greek and Roman mythology. It is possible to enter the roof of the gallery, from where there is a view of the gardens and a maneuvering square for children who want to learn traffic rules.
The current main entrance was created in 1840-1845 in the Empire style. On the sides there are two greenhouses, and one of them is organized by a small palm house.
In the 20th century, the gardens were gradually destroyed, only in the 1960s and 1970s, comprehensive renovation began and the most of the original appearance was restored to them. Two larger fragments of gardens have not survived, in which there was, among others A swimming pool with an artificial island, on which a birdie, roaster and so -called Rabbits field.
In 1998, the floral garden together with the Archbishop Palace and the Castle Garden were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
