The National Nature Reserve of the Quarter was established in 1989. The reason for the protection is a varied mosaic of forest types with rare flora. The reserve is located in the municipality of Mcely in the Nymburk district of the Central Bohemia Region and is under the care of the Kokořínsko-Máchův kraj Protected Landscape Area Administration.
