Babičino údolí - a protected area and a national monument to nature and culture in the Nachodzki poviat in the Czech Republic.
Babičino údolí is the valley of the Upa river north of Česka Skalice near the palace in Ratibo. The name comes from the novel by Božena Němcova Grandma, whose action, the author placed here. The valley was first called Babičino údolí in 1878 the writer Otakar Jedlička, who worked in Smřice as a doctor. In 1952, the Ministry of Education, Science and Art announced this area with a landscape reserve, and in 1978 a national cultural souvenir.
The most frequented place is Stary Bielnik, House No. 7 near the Victor Jazu. Here, Božena Němcová spent the holidays in 1844 with her children, and in the novel Babunia placed the apartment of the title heroic and her family. The original Stary Bielnik was near the palace in Ratibo and was demolished on the order of the owner Wilhelmina Żagańska around 1830. After World War II, furniture from the time of grandmother from the time of the Museum of the Božena Němcova museum in Česka Skalice was set up in Cott 7. The building and its surroundings were renovated in 1970 on the occasion of the filming of the Babička film directed by Antonín Moskalyk.
There is also a grandmother's monument with children in the valley. The decision to build was made on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the authors' birth. The cornerstone was laid on July 25, 1920 writer Alois Jirásek. The solemn unveiling took place on July 9, 1922. He was accompanied by a solemn passage of allegorical cars from the Česka scale to Ratibořic. The author of the monument is the sculptor Otto Gutfreund, with whom Pavel Janák cooperated.
Jaz Victa near Stary Bielnik also changed its appearance as a result of reconstruction in 1842-1848 and 1874-1875, and then during the UPA regulation in the 1920s and 1950s. At the place of the original wooden weir, a concrete was created, which during the filming of the film in 1970 trees were covered to resemble the original structure.
