Facts and practical information
The Roman Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Turnov was built between 1825 and 1853 as one of the first neo-Gothic churches in Europe. The massive three-aisled building with an unfinished tower, which became a characteristic landmark of the town, stands on Marian Square on the site where a wooden church had previously stood together with a Dominican church, probably founded by St. Zdislava and Havel of Hutwice later of Lemberk and Jablonné. It is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
