medieval bridge, Prague
Facts and practical information
Na Můstku is the name of a short street in the centre of Prague.
The street is connected to Wenceslas Square in its lower part. The name of the street comes from the time when in the Middle Ages the city walls of the Old Town of Prague stood in these places with a moat over which a bridge led to the Old Havel Gate in the city walls.
Můstek or Na Můstku is also the unofficial name of the intersection of this street and Wenceslas Square with Na příkopě Street, along which the border between the Old Town and the New Town runs. The metro station also takes its name from this intersection.
