Třeboň, Třeboň
Facts and practical information
Třeboň I is the central part of the town of Třeboň in the district of Jindřichův Hradec. There are 540 addresses registered here and in 2011 there were 467 permanent residents. Třeboň I lies in the centre of the cadastral area of Třeboň.
This is especially the old town around Masaryk Square and the area around Kotěra's waterworks Na Kopečku. A substantial part of Trebon I is a town conservation area. The centre is the fortified old town, the heart of which is the Renaissance chateau complex and Masaryk Square, with arcades on both sides and the Hradecka Gate at the bottom in the east. In the middle of Masaryk Square, under the Baroque fountain, there is traditionally an illuminated Christmas tree at Christmas, a tree festooned with painted eggs at Easter, and a tall maypole in May. Since 2000, it has also come to life on 1 January at 6 pm with a festive fireworks display with a musical production attended by more than 10,000 spectators from Třeboň and the surrounding area. The third largest castle complex in the Czech Republic follows perpendicularly to the west.
