Jewish Cemetery
Facts and practical information
The Jewish cemetery in Litň is located about one kilometre southwest of the village of Litň and is one of the oldest in the Central Bohemian Region. Jews from Praskoles, Hostomice, Běštín, Všeradice, Beroun, Libomysl, Svinař, Suchomast, Tetín, Tman, Koněprus and sometimes also from Hořovice were buried here. The names of Jews expelled from Prague by Maria Theresa in 1744 also appear here. The cemetery is bounded by a fence wall, and in the eastern part of the cemetery there is a mortuary with a gravedigger's apartment. There are well-preserved Baroque and Classical tombstones, often decorated with unusual patterns. Since 1958 the cemetery has been protected by the National Heritage Institute.
