Hobro Kirke, Hobro
Facts and practical information
Hobro Church is located in Hobro Parish which is a parish in Hobro-Mariager Provsti. The parish is in Mariagerfjord Municipality; until the 1970 municipal reform it was in Onsild Herred.
The present church was consecrated on 31 October 1852. It was designed by Michael Gottlieb Bindesbøll, who was the building inspector for Jutland at the time. By 1846, the original ashlar church was collapsing, so it was demolished in 1848 to make way for the new church, which is unconventional in many ways; among other things, the tower is at the east end so that it can be seen better from the city.
