The Fanø art museum is located in the center of Sønderho on the Danish island of Fanø in the North Sea. From 1922, it has its headquarters in the historic Krommann building.
Thanks to many years of patrons Alice and Tage Sørensen in 2013 the museum was expanded with a new building, so you can admire both current art and paintings from museum collections. Every year, exhibitions change 3-4 times.
The museum has a collection of over 1,200 works of well -known and less known artists who are or were associated with a fan. Fanø drew their inspirations from the Watt Sea and the nature and culture. The museum collection includes the work of such artists as: Holger Drachmann, Viggo Fauerholdt, Niels Holbak, Franz List, Frederik Christian Lund, Johan Rohde and Carl Fredrik Sørensen.
