Havnø Mill

Havnø Mølle is located on Mariager Fjord, east of Hadsund and south of the village of Visborg.
It is a manor house windmill, built in 1842 by Havnø estate as a Dutch windmill.
The mill is the oldest preserved windmill in North Jutland; it was in operation until around 1927.
The mill was donated in 1994 by Havnø estate to the Museum Association for Hadsund and Surroundings and was thoroughly restored from 1995 to 2001.
The mill is now run as a working museum mill by the Møllehistorisk Samling in cooperation with Havnø Møllelaug, a group of volunteer mill keepers.
Havnø Mill was protected in 1964.
Havnø is located on a 100 x 25 metre kitchen mound.
