The International Museum of the Long Course Cap-Hornier, created by the curator of the museums of Saint-Malo, Dan Lailler, is located in the district of Saint-Servan in the city of Saint-Malo in Ille-et-Vilaine.
It gathers documents and testimonies on the history of ocean navigation and more particularly on the captains of ocean voyages and the Cape Horn sailors, that is to say, those who crossed the dreaded Cape Horn.
The museum occupies the four floors of the Solidor tower on the bank of the Rance, a fortification dating from the end of the 14th century.
The museum traces the discovery of Cape Horn and the life of the Cape Horners with maps, portraits of famous sailors, models of ships, fittings, photos and other evidence of the life of sailors.
