Facts and practical information

The Public Garden of Bordeaux is an urban park located in the center of Bordeaux. By extension, the area around the park is called the "Jardin Public" district. Officially, the park is part of the Chartrons - Grand Parc - Jardin Public subdivision.

The creation of the public garden of Bordeaux was decided in 1746 on the initiative of the Intendant Tourny, on a piece of land occupied by "bad vines and some gardening" on the edge of the city. It was registered as a historical monument on October 8, 1935.
