Facts and practical information
The lighthouse of the island of Batz, formerly lighthouse of the island of Bas, is a French lighthouse of first order established on a high point of the western part of the island. It is located in the commune of Ile de Batz, in the north of the Finistère department in the Brittany region. Its purpose is to indicate the danger that the island and its surroundings represent to the ships sailing in these parts of the Channel.
Electrified and automated, it has been classified as a historical monument since April 20, 2017. A museography on the theme of wind occupies eight rooms in the basement. The lighthouse and the exhibition are open to the public.
