St. Andrew's Church, Boissy-l'Aillerie
Facts and practical information
The Saint-André de Boissy-l'Aillerie church is the parish church of the commune of Boissy-l'Aillerie in the Val-d'Oise. It consisted of a Romanesque nave from the XIIth century and a Gothic choir from the XIIIth century. Ruined at the end of the 18th century, the church remained abandoned for a long time, before the choir was rebuilt between 1848 and 1850. The nave and the bell tower were not rebuilt and only minor remains remind us that the church was originally larger. The choir is however of generous dimensions and has a three-level elevation, with aisles, triforium and high bays. Despite the successive reconstructions, its architecture remains very homogeneous. It has been registered as a historical monument since June 16, 1926.
