The Carvin German Military Cemetery is a World War I military cemetery located in the commune of Carvin, near Lens, in the Pas-de-Calais department.
This cemetery near the front was created in the autumn of 1914, to bury soldiers killed during the race to the sea. 6,113 German soldiers and three Russian prisoners are buried here. After the end of hostilities, it was enlarged by France. It only took its present form in 1978, when the wooden crosses were replaced by stone steles.
