Mont des Oliviers, Molsheim
Facts and practical information
The Mont-des-Oliviers is a monumental sculpture located in Molsheim, near the chevet of the Jesuit church. This Olive Mount, which represents the agony of Jesus Christ in the Garden of Olives, was initially realized for the gardens of the Carthusian monastery of Molsheim from 1765 to 1768 by a certain Ziegler. Dismantled at the beginning of the 19th century, it was brought to its present location. The protective dome that covers it is removed in 1923, which accelerates the degradation of the monument, which is registered in the complementary inventory of historical monuments on June 18, 1929.
