Panorama XXL, Rouen
Facts and practical information
Panorama XXL is a panorama that offers to see giant and panoramic works of the artist Yadegar Asisi. Through an original mix of digital photographs, paintings and drawings, the artist revives and modernizes the panoramas, an essential artistic genre of the nineteenth century. The visitor is surrounded by the work and can observe it through a central tower, giving him the impression of entering the work. The Panorama XXL is located on the quays of Rouen, on the banks of the Seine, facing the Avenue Pasteur and the Sainte-Madeleine church.
The Panorama opens in December 2014, modeled after the Panometer in Leipzig.
While the panorama was supposed to look for a new location by 2021, the decision was finally taken by the Rouen Normandy Metropolis to cease its operation in September 2021.
