Facts and practical information
The Sundial is a sundial installed on the edge of the A9 freeway at the Tavel Nord rest area, in Tavel, Gard, France. The work, created in 1993, is the result of a collaboration between the sculptor Odile Mir, the astronomer Denis Savoie and the engineer Robert Queudot. It is a well-known example of what is sometimes pejoratively called "highway art".
