Saint Lucien Church, Warluis
Facts and practical information
Saint-Lucien Church is a Catholic parish church in Warluis, Oise, France. It unites a single eleventh-century nave, a simple rectangular hall, with an elegant Romanesque bell tower from the first third of the twelfth century, located south of the last bay of the nave, and an early seventeenth-century transept and apse. These eastern parts constitute a modest ensemble of pure Flamboyant Gothic style, totally out of step with the late Renaissance architecture that prevailed at the time of construction. In 1866, the nave was extended by one bay to the west, and the building is now longer. It has a series of interesting stained glass windows from the 19th century, and also a stained glass window from the beginning of the 16th century, which is a listed building. The Saint-Lucien church was registered as a historical monument by order of June 25, 1986, and is now affiliated with the parish "Frederic Ozanam" of Beauvais-Sud. Sunday masses are celebrated there on Sundays of even months, except in August, at 9:30 am.
