Peyragudes
Facts and practical information
Nestled in the heart of the French Pyrenees, Peyragudes is a dynamic ski area known for its modern facilities and breathtaking mountain vistas. Established in the 1980s through the merger of two older ski resorts, Peyresourde and Les Agudes, Peyragudes offers a winter sports experience that combines both thrill and serenity.
Spanning an altitude from 1600 to 2400 meters, Peyragudes boasts 60 kilometers of slopes designed to cater to all skill levels, from beginner to expert. The resort is equipped with 17 lifts, including high-speed chairlifts, ensuring that skiers and snowboarders spend less time waiting and more time carving down the mountain's well-groomed pistes.
Peyragudes is particularly noted for its commitment to sustainability, with initiatives in place to reduce its environmental impact, such as snowmaking with low-energy consumption systems. The ski area also features a snowpark for freestyle enthusiasts and offers stunning off-piste opportunities for those looking for an adventure beyond the marked trails.
The resort's infrastructure is complete with ski schools, equipment rental shops, and a variety of accommodations, ranging from cozy chalets to modern apartments. After a day on the slopes, visitors can unwind in the local spas or indulge in the regional cuisine at one of the many restaurants dotting the area.
