Facts and practical information

The castle of Salveterra, or castle of Opoul, is a castle built by James I of Aragon in the thirteenth century on the border between the Kingdom of France and the Kingdom of Aragon.

Located at the top of a plateau of 400 meters of altitude, the building is intended to accommodate a whole village with its activities. It was gradually abandoned in favor of the village of Opoul, and in the 21st century is a ruined monument accessible to hikers.
