Château de Pontécoulant
Facts and practical information
The castle of Pontécoulant is located in the east of the Virois bocage, in Pontécoulant near Condé-sur-Noireau, near the Suisse Normande, in Normandy. The domain of Pontécoulant gathers the distinctive marks of the nobility: castle, gamekeeper's and gardener's pavilions, dovecote, landscaped park, farm, woods and lands.
The Le Doulcet de Pontécoulant family settled there in the 14th century and died out in 1896, leaving the castle to the Calvados department, which converted it into a museum in 1908. It has been registered as a historical monument since March 26, 1927.
