The courthouse of Besançon gathers on a single site the court of appeal, the judicial court and the commercial court of Besançon.

The part of the main façade between the two corner pavilions has been classified as a historical monument since October 14, 1911.

The vestibule with its grid and decoration and the grand staircase; the following rooms with their decoration: the salle des audiences solennelles, the salle des pas perdus, the first and second rooms and the chimney of the chambre de mise en accusation have been registered as historical monuments since December 27, 1979.
