Facts and practical information
The church of Saint-Symphorien is a building located in Tours, on the north bank of the Loire. The first mention of it is by Charles the Bald, in 852, who confirms the "possessions of Marmoutier". The sources often attest to this possession. It was, until the 18th century, always placed under the dependence of the abbey of Marmoutier.
