How much do you have to spend on groceries per day in Ghana?
When shopping for groceries in local stores and markets, the average daily cost of food expenses will range from 40.28 GHS (10.11 PLN) to 78.84 GHS (19.79 PLN) when buying the cheapest products. However, if you choose slightly more expensive products, you can expect to pay from 55.06 GHS (13.82 PLN) to 109 GHS (27.43 PLN) per day. These figures are based on daily meals consisting of approximately 2200-2400 kcal and may vary slightly depending on the city.

Food and beverage prices in Ghana
Popular food products found on store shelves in Ghana include bananas, rice, bread, onions, eggs, tomatoes, cheese, beef and potatoes, among others. Prices for a kilo of these products range from 14.88 GHS (3.73 PLN) for a kilo of onions to 39.66 GHS (9.95 PLN) for a kilo of beef. The price of white rice is 15.72 GHS (3.95 PLN) per kilo, while a loaf of fresh white bread costs 11.06 GHS (2.78 PLN) per half kilo. Bananas cost 11.23 GHS (2.82 PLN) per kilo, while apples cost 21.87 GHS (5.49 PLN) per kilo.
Water, available in 1.5-liter bottles, costs 4.72 GHS (1.18 PLN). Dairy prices in Ghana, on the other hand, are as follows: 1 liter of milk costs about 17.74 GHS (4.45 PLN), and 1 kilogram of locally produced cheese is an expense of 80.18 GHS (20.13 PLN). Chicken filet, which is a common ingredient in meat dishes, costs in the range of 36.92 GHS (9.27 PLN) per kilo. Eggs (12 pieces per package) are an expense of about 17.55 GHS (4.41 PLN), and the average price of tomatoes is 16.76 GHS (4.21 PLN) per kilo.

For instance, a Cappuccino typically costs around 18.85 GHS (4.73 PLN), while a 0.33-liter bottle of Coca-Cola or Pepsi is priced at approximately 6.07 GHS (1.52 PLN). At a fast-food restaurant such as McDonald's, you can expect to pay 65 GHS (16.32 PLN) for a meal, whereas a meal for two at a mid-range restaurant could cost around 350 GHS (87.85 PLN). Budget-friendly dining options are also available, with some restaurants offering meals for as little as 35 GHS (8.79 PLN).
