Kacár tanya - népművészeti bemutatóhely
Facts and practical information
The Kacár farm is a place of folk crafts on the outskirts of Szokolya.
The entrance to the farm is located about 700 metres south of Szokolya. The demonstration area covers several hectares. The farm can be reached by a dirt road from Szokolya.
The showroom was built by István Lénárt in 1998. After the regime change, he bought the land with a reparation ticket from his maternal grandfather. He and his wife built the buildings with their own hands, the barn was donated by an owner in szokolya, and parts of it were transported to the showroom with construction machinery. It was reconstructed from Tibor Sabján's book. The name "Kacár" comes from the cognomen of István Lénárt's maternal grandfather.
The farmhouse is supplied with electricity and water by solar and wind energy.
