Bandi the Horseshoe is a legendary outlaw whose character was associated with songs and legends in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His tradition is mainly alive in the South Transdanubian region.
Its shape is the result of folklorisation. An outlaw in verse has come to life in the popular imagination. The song, based on a play on words, was published in 1875 in a tarpaulin edition.Two are beaten on my boots.The stories connected with him are varied from elements of other famous outlaws' stories.
Bandi Patkó also appears in Gyula Krúdy's The Devil Takes Someone, but not as an outlaw, but as a volunteer bodyguard for Eduard Alvinczi, who is wandering the countryside.
