When Is the Best Time To Visit India?

The answer to the question of what is the best month to visit India depends on what you are interested in doing during your stay. Here you can see an overview of each month and its typical weather conditions.

Andamans: Tourist Season & Weather

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are an archipelago that is warm and humid all year round. It is best to visit it from November to April, that's when we can fully enjoy the beautiful weather. The aura is conducive to all forms of relaxation, from sunbathing, swimming, diving & other water sports, through more active leisure activities, such as sightseeing and trekking. Although there may be occasional rainfall, they do not make the visit difficult.

A completely different situation is during the monsoon, from June to September. Heavy and intense rains, strong winds, and rough sea make this period rather bad for a trip. We will encounter a lot of difficulties while relaxing on the beach and visiting other attractions. In some places, high sea waves and poor underwater visibility make diving and other water sports impossible.

Tourist season month by month. Legend

For countries with a large geographical spread, the most visited places were taken into account and the data were averaged. April - May

Apr
May

Good time to travel to the Andaman Islands. With the air temperature rising to 75°F - 99°F and plenty of sunshine, these are the warmest months of the year. Thanks to the cool breeze blowing from the sea, the climate is pleasant, and the prevailing heat does not make it difficult to rest. Great time for sunbathing and blissful laziness on the beaches ( including famous ones such as Radhanagar, Elephant Beach, Lalaji Bay Beach, Wandoor Beach). Also, enthusiasts of spending time actively will not complain. The weather is favorable for water sports (canoeing, surfing) and diving in the calm and crystal clear waters surrounding the islands. Visiting the archipelago can be combined with observing nature, especially birds, which are very visible during this period.

It is also worth taking part in numerous events and festivals organized during this time. In April, the three-day „Beach Festival” attracts many tourists staying on the islands.

From mid-May, the amount of rainfall gradually increases, heralding the arrival of the monsoon season.

June - September

The summer monsoon months are not the best time to visit the Andaman archipelago. There are heavy rains and gusty winds, with temperatures ranging from 72°F to 95°F. Air humidity also increases, which becomes a nuisance. The weather is unfavorable for either sunbathing or sightseeing. Transport by sea (ferries, boat trips) is limited, as a result of which some islands are temporarily inaccessible to tourists. The troubled sea with big waves is unpredictable, which prevents safe swimming and water sports. Poor visibility underwater makes diving and snorkeling not a good idea either.

Visitors who are not afraid of monsoon rains can participate in the September celebrations of the „Food Festival” and „World Tourism Day”.

Winter months are a very good time to travel to Andamans and Nicobars, the weather is mild and pleasant. In October the monsoon season gradually ends. The frequency and intensity of precipitation significantly decrease, and as a consequence, the air humidity also decreases. Days are warm and full of sunshine, between 68°F and 86°F, only evenings can be slightly cooler.

Comfortable temperatures, without bothersome heat, guarantee almost ideal conditions for active rest, trekking, exploring the islands, and all sports such as sailing, snorkeling, deep diving, paragliding & surfing.

There is a slight northeast monsoon from November to December, but it is not very noticeable. Clouds and occasional rainfall may appear, but the lack of sun can not be complained about.

Resorts and beaches are bustling with life, full of tourists and all kinds of attractions. You can enjoy the organized cruises on the islands of the archipelago without any difficulties. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the beauty of nature in the post-monsoon version, especially during hiking in the Mount Harriet National Park.

The most sun and the least rainfall can be observed from January to March.

The „Film Festival” in November and the „Island Tourism Festival” held in January are some of the famous festivals not to be missed when visiting the islands in winter.
