Pashmak

Pashmak, also known as Persian Cotton Candy, is a delightful Iranian treat crafted from sugar. This airy confection is often enjoyed by itself or paired with fruits, cakes, ice creams, puddings, and other desserts. For an extra touch of flavor, it is sometimes sprinkled with ground pistachio nuts.

While Pashmak has a texture reminiscent of cotton candy, its preparation and ingredients are quite different. This unique confection originates from Yazd, a city in Iran renowned for its traditional Persian sweets such as Baghlava, Qottab, and Gaz, with a history dating back to the Safavid Empire.

Interestingly, there is also a Turkish sweet called pişmaniye that resembles Pashmak. Though they share a similar appearance and texture, each has its own distinct taste and preparation method.
