When Is the Best Time To Visit Iraq?

Climate of Iraq
Iraq is located in the dry tropical climate zone and extremely dry in the southwest. Only the northern regions of the country have a wetter variety of climate categorized as subtropical.
Two seasons can be distinguished throughout the country: a dry and hot summer - lasting from May to October, with temperatures exceeding 40°C, and a slightly cooler (10°C - 20°C) humid winter - lasting from December to March, with few sudden and short downpours.
Winters in the north of the country (in the mountains) are harsh, and frosts are common, with occasional snowfall. Rainfall in the country is low (annually: 100 mm in the south of the country, up to 300 mm in the central part of the country). Desert areas experience perennial droughts. The country's northern Kurdistan Mountains are the wettest (about 600 mm to 1,000 mm of annual rainfall in the highest parts of the mountains).
