The Jiro Obutsu Memorial Hall is a memorial hall for the writer Jiro Obutsu, located at 113 Yamate-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is located adjacent to Minato-no-Mieru-Oka Park. It was designed by Shintaro Urabe.
After the death of Jiro Obutsu, the city of Yokohama received a donation of his collection of books and personal effects from his bereaved family and built a memorial hall in Yamate, Yokohama City, where his works "The Foghorn" and "Homeward Bound" were set. The memorial hall is a two-story building with a distinctive arched roof and red bricks, and inside the hall are exhibited various materials related to Jiro Obutsu, such as documents and magazines collected by Jiro Obutsu, materials for writing, and his favorite articles. In recent years, the museum has hosted a lecture by the recipient of the Obutsu Jiro Prize on a Saturday in early March every year.
In 1979, the building won the 20th BCS Award sponsored by the Building Contractors Society of Japan.
