Xu bo duo shen she, Uji
Facts and practical information
The Xun Hata Shrine is a shrine in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It is a shrine designated by the Shikinai-sha "Xuhata Shrine," but there are two shrines named Xuhata Shrine in Uji City, one in Kibata and the other in the adjacent district of Gokasho, each with a different legend. Both shrines were formerly designated as local shrines. The former name was Yanagi Daimyojin.
The shrine is listed as Meishin Taisha in the Engishiki Shinmeicho. It is said that Prince Omihito and Tamuramaro Sakagami prayed for victory in battle, and the shrine is believed to bestow victory luck. Both shrines are dedicated to Amano-ninshihomikoto. The Shiki-no-Uchi Shrines are the only shrines dedicated to Ama-ninshihomimi no Mikoto, and the Kamakura-era Shaku-nihon-niki states that "the deity seated at Xuhata Shrine is to be revered differently from others as the deity of the mausoleum. In 1569, he received the highest rank of Shoichi no Kami. After the war, neither shrine affiliated with the Jinja Honcho, but with the Jinja Honkyo.
During the Warring States Period, most of the shrine buildings were destroyed by fire during the war, and the old legends were lost.
