Facts and practical information
Sapporo-dake is a 1,293-meter-high volcano located in Sapporo City, Ishikari Promotion Bureau, Hokkaido, and is included in Shikotsu-Toya National Park.
The name of the mountain comes from the fact that it is the source of the Toyohira River. The Toyohira River, which flows through Sapporo City, was called Sapporo-Petu before the Meiji Era. Sap Poro-Petu is also the origin of the place name of Sapporo City.
On the summit, there is a monument "Ishizuchi Shrine" and a first class triangulation point "Sapporo-dake".
